Live now

There is no best social media data API, only a best one for your job. A credit, a unit, a record and a call are not the same thing, so this page converts every vendor to the same unit: price per 1,000 results, with the working shown. Prices checked 2026-11-08. Where a price comes from an October 2026 roundup that read the vendor's own page instead of a live check today, it says so.

The short answer, if you want it up front: Social Fetch wins on breadth, ScrapeCreators wins on never-expiring credits, TikLiveAPI wins on TikTok-only price, GetXAPI wins on X-only price, and we win when the job is TikTok and X together on one key with a monthly plan. The table below is the evidence.

The call

One API key works for every endpoint below. Send your key in the x-api-key header.

curl -X POST https://social-data-api.chideraezeudu2.workers.dev/v1/tiktok/search \
  -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"keyword": "coffee"}'

Search takes keyword, count (default 20, max 50) and offset. One call costs 1 credit and returns a page of videos. The same key also covers X, with Instagram next and Reddit after.

What you get back

{
  "platform": "tiktok",
  "endpoint": "tiktok.search",
  "credits_used": 1,
  "upstream_cost_usd_per_call": 0.001,
  "key_id": "...",
  "plan_type": "trial",
  "result": { "...": "upstream search data" }
}

Response shape, example values only, not real data. Every response uses this wrapper. The result field holds the upstream provider's data, in its own shape. credits_used tells you what the call cost.

What it costs

  • Pay as you go: $0.003 a call, $3.00 per 1,000 calls, top up from $10.
  • Basic $29/mo: 10,000 calls included, $2.90 per 1,000 calls.
  • Pro $99/mo: 50,000 calls included, $1.98 per 1,000 calls.
  • Per 1,000 results: 20 results per call by default, so $0.15 per 1,000 results on pay as you go, $0.145 on Basic, $0.099 on Pro.
  • Free trial: 3 days, 100 calls on TikTok, card required, $29/mo after trial unless you cancel.

Per-1,000-results figures are our arithmetic from each vendor's published price, assuming 20 results per call where the vendor bills per call. Apify and Bright Data bill per result and per record, so their per-1,000-results figure is the published rate itself. Prices checked 2026-11-08.

Best for each job

TikTok and X together: us, one key, one bill. Most platforms: Social Fetch, 26 live. Buy once, use slowly: ScrapeCreators or Scrape Everything, credits never expire. Cheapest TikTok calls: TikLiveAPI, if you pay in crypto. Cheapest X tweets: GetXAPI at $0.05 per 1,000. Steady daily TikTok volume: EnsembleData at $100 a month, if you use every daily unit. Large async jobs: Apify actors. Enterprise datasets: Bright Data.

The mistake is comparing the headline numbers without converting the units. A vendor at $0.05 per 1,000 tweets and a vendor at $3.00 per 1,000 calls look 60x apart until you count that one call returns 20 tweets, which makes them $0.05 and $0.15 per 1,000 tweets. Always convert to price per 1,000 results before you choose, and always check the minimum spend: $47 at ScrapeCreators, $100 a month at EnsembleData, $10 here.

How it works

  1. Get one API key from the Social Data API dashboard. The same key works for TikTok, X, Instagram and Reddit.
  2. Send the call above with your key in the x-api-key header.
  3. Use the JSON. List endpoints take count (default 20 results per call, max 50) and cursor for the next page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best social media data API?

It depends on the job. Social Fetch wins on breadth with 26 platforms, ScrapeCreators wins on credits that never expire, TikLiveAPI wins on TikTok-only price, GetXAPI wins on X-only price. We win when the job is TikTok and X together on one key with a monthly plan. There is no single winner, which is why this page has a best-for column instead of a ranking.

Why do per-1,000 prices differ so much?

Because the unit differs. A credit, a unit, a record and a call are not the same thing, and one call can return 1 result or 20. Convert every vendor to price per 1,000 results before you compare, and check the minimum spend alongside it.

Which one is cheapest?

Per result, TikLiveAPI is cheapest for TikTok at about $0.005 per 1,000 results, and GetXAPI is cheapest for X at $0.05 per 1,000 tweets. Both are single-platform and narrow. Across TikTok and X together on one key, we are $0.15 per 1,000 results on pay as you go.

Which one should I pick for TikTok and X together?

Us, or Social Fetch. We are the focused choice: TikTok and X live, Instagram next, Reddit after, $29 a month or pay as you go. Social Fetch is the broad choice: 26 platforms, monitors, team seats, $29 a month for 18,000 credits. Pick focus or pick breadth, both are honest answers.

Start the 3-day free trial: 100 calls on TikTok, card required, $29/mo after trial unless you cancel. Get your API key or try it in the Playground.

Prices checked on 2026-11-08. Instagram is next after X, then Reddit, all on the same single API key.
